Mike Farrell

Great Caesar digital single artwork, 2010.

Artwork for the digital releases “6:37E, The Tale of Buck Byron” and “Sweet Banana.” Both can be heard at the link above. I like the dichotomy between the two, which were released separately; one features prominent use of typography while the other has none at all.

I tried to emulate the look of an old western wanted poster for “6:37,” a song about a man in a similar era who attempts to rob a saloon to pay for his daughter’s ransom. The “Sweet Banana” artwork is meant to replicate the feelings of anxiety that the focus of the song—an attractive, seductive female—imposes upon others around her. The song’s lyrics focus heavily on this theme.
